The Csermely Environmental Association was founded in Szeged in 2003 by a group of people passionate and committed to environmental protection and nature conservation.

The Csermely Environmental Association was founded in Szeged in 2003 by a group of people passionate and committed to environmental protection and nature conservation.

The Association aims to bring together people who are receptive to environmental and nature protection,

and effectively remedying the problems that arise in the region. Our members consist of students, teachers, researchers and those interested in this field.

One of our most important tasks is protecting protected, highly protected, and endangered species and their habitats in the Southern Great Plain Region. Of course, this alone is not enough.

Without an attitude, nature conservation activity is worth nothing. Our motto is, “Nature can only be effectively protected by those who know it.”

Therefore, since our establishment, we have been giving lectures to preschool, primary and secondary school children about our country’s natural values ​​and environmental problems. Our quizzes, camps and forest school programs are very popular among the children living in our region. Since we are established in a university city, we don’t forget to develop students’ environmentally conscious thinking.

Our Association works with other institutions and organizations in nature conservation and research; it is part of environmental education projects and explores ecological and nature conservation problems.

Besides the activities at the local level, the Association is involved in national and international level’s projects and promotes informal and non-formal environmental learning among young people of different countries.
