The association organises several local activities, including Little Scientist Camp, The Bagolyvár Evening’s program series, Conferences, Excursions and trips in nature.
It has been giving lectures to preschool, primary and secondary school children about our country’s natural values and environmental problems. Our quizzes, camps and forest school programs are very popular among the children living in our region.
The Csermely Association will be organized by the Gyula Juhász Teacher Training Faculty of the University of Szeged in June and July 2021 in the Interactive Natural Knowledge Library. The camp will have many field trips, classroom chemistry, microscopic examination, other development sessions, and there will be an opportunity for children to gain many experiences.

Age requirement for application
Students who have completed the first year of primary school can apply. The camp is open to children who are particularly interested in the natural sciences. They will get acquainted with the rich collection of the Interactive Knowledge Base, try chemical, physical, biological experiments, and enjoy a trip to see the plants and animals living there. They will try experiential toys and craft classes.

The Bagolyvár Evening’s program series are events dedicated to lecturers of the Interactive Natural Knowledge Base. The 19th event was held on Monday, October 26, 2020 by Peter Lovászi, coordinator of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society. The presentation introduced the Forest Owl, bird of the year, in the light of the BirdLife report entitled “The Situation of Birds of the World 2020”.
The event was supported by the Municipality of Szeged.
The association organises lectures with professors from the University of Szeged and representatives from local relevant institutions dealing with environmental preservation and naturalistic research.
The German Federal Environmental Foundation is once again announcing its internship in Germany. The opportunity is open to any field of science, and dedicated to graduates in nature conservation and monument protection, young graduates, doctoral students. Postgraduates are also welcome to apply. The scholarship is available for 6-12 months or for research institutes, universities, public administration, social organizations, companies.
The scholarship includes:
- 3-week intensive German language course
- health insurance
- € 1,250 per month for living, travel and professional conferences in Germany
- organizational and professional support for participation – participation in the organization of former scholarship holders, additional application opportunities.
